Just received a lovely message from Natalie and David, whose wedding we photographed just one year ago at St Chads, Pattingham and Perton Golf Club. Natalie also put us forward for a wedding photographers award. We guess they liked the photos!!
“To Jayne & Christopher the best photographers we could have wished for. Looking back at the photos and album on our first anniversary. Thank you both for such and amazing collection on photos, slide show and precious memories. Best wishes Natalie & David Stockley x “
We were lucky enough to be selected as the photographers for the wedding of Katie and Neil at Shustoke Farm Barns near Coleshill. This was our first time at this lovely venue which opened for weddings in mid-2013 following extensive renovations. Our pre-wedding visit revealed how the owners, Cripps Kitchen, have lovingly restored the buildings from a state of dereliction into a fabulous wedding location – cleverly maintaining the “country feel” of the buildings, whilst bestowing them with all the modern facilities required for a spectacular wedding.
Inside the venue is an enclosed courtyard – perfect for those pre wedding breakfast drinks whilst the photos are being taken.
The renovated barns are the backdrop to the ceremony, wedding breakfast and the evening party
Congratulations to Katie and Neil on organising a fabulous wedding – and best wishes to then for a happy life together!
Shustoke Farm Barns is a wonderful addition to the great variety of fabulous wedding venues in the Midlands – we hope to work there again very soon! – and of course we wish Katie and Neil the very best of health, wealth and happiness for their future together!

Sunday 13th April saw us photographing the wedding of Francesca and Adam at St Mary and St Chads in Brewood, followed by a reception at the Moat House Hotel in Acton Trussell. A brilliant day with a lovely couple – and equally lovely guests!
The day started at Francesca’s house with the preparations
The service was held and St Mary and St Chads in Brewood.
Moving on the Moat House for some great photos in the sunshine – and thanks to Mick from Heritage Wedding cars of Stone for his co-operation on the day!
The newly redecorated library makes for some lovely photos
The wedding breakfast and speeches soon followed
And it wasn’t long before the first dance got underway (but not before we have shown our evening photoshow!)
And Katie & Neil put on a surprise additional dance routine for the guests! (with a little help from their friends!)
And to end the evening – a photo looking back from over the pool.
What a great day!!
With two weddings already photographed – and plenty more booked – the new local venue at Pendrell Hall is proving to be one of the most popular wedding venues in the area! Talking to brides at local wedding fayres – its amazing how many have got their big day booked at Pendrell Hall.
Bridal preparations are in the beautiful “Love is Enough” room the first floor – and it is certainly one of the best preparation rooms we have seen! With plenty of space and lots of mirrors it is ideal for the making your last few hours of single life truly memorable.
Along with all the rooms at Pendrell, the room for a civil ceremony is richly decorated, maintaining the traditional feel of the building but with all the features required to make your day.
The house and grounds allow plenty of room for your guests to mingle and for us to get some fabulous photos of your day.
Your wedding breakfast and evening party are held in the fabulous and airy function room – with great views over the Staffordshire countryside.
Pendrell have a number of open days where you can see our sample wedding album on display. However just give us a call and we can tell you more about the venue – and the exclusive offers we have in place.
It is now four years since Codsall Photographic started offering our evening photoshows at weddings – and since then the majority of weddings we have photographed have featured a show. Just lasting between 4 and 5 minutes, but showcasing some of the best images from your big day.
They have been so well received that we have booked many weddings due to our offering this feature. We regularly ask at wedding venues if any other photographers are offering this feature on the day – but we still seem to be one of only two photographers in this area doing so in this style. We have heard of a few photographers putting a few photos on a slideshow on a laptop sitting on the reception desk – but we use a 6 foot screen, digital projector and our own high-tech sound system – to give your photos the impact they deserve.
The show is a brilliant start to your evening – bringing your evening guests into the wedding – and showing your day guests many things they won’t have seen. And we always try to add a few laughs and some “Ahhh…” photos into the mix.
So if you would like this at your wedding – give us a call! – you may be surprised how little it can cost!

Over the past 18 months three non-profit bridal fayres have been held in Codsall Village Hall – with all proceeds going to local charities and good causes. The fayres were jointly organised by ourselves and Photographs by Margot – a rare case of competitors coming together for the common good! We were well supported by local wedding suppliers including: Stylishly Classic Cars, Anne Raymond Florists, Chillington Hall, Pendrell Hall, The Mount Hotel, Rodbaston Hall, Make my Wedding Special, Bow Beautiful, Judy Pendrill make up and many other suppliers too numerous to mention. In total we raised almost £1700 split between The Midlands Air Ambulance (Fayre 1), Compton Hospice, (Fayre 2) and the Durnall Unit at New Cross (fayre 3).
The lovely Castle Church at Stafford has used Codsall Photographic as the featured wedding photographers in their new website. The photos were all taken at the recent wedding of Lee and Karen. Despite the very dark interior of the church, our combination of Canon 1Dx and 5D Mk 3 cameras allowed us to capture excellent ambient light photos (i.e. not using flash – which is apparently used my most other photographers in this church). The use of flash in church is very disturbing – and rarely leads to high quality photos. That is why we never use it! By using professional quality equipment and good technique, we can be sure to capture your wedding – almost without you knowing we are there!
However our most challenging venue in recent times was a vintage railway booking office – lit by two 60W bulbs, candles and a Christmas Tree! No problem!!
The church website can be seen HERE
Many thanks to the Rev Philip Sowerbutts for using our photos!
A brand new wedding venue has just opened only 2 miles for our base in Codsall. Pendrell Hall has had a multitude of uses over the past hundred or so years, however the past 8 months has seen one of the biggest transformations in the buildings history. Under new ownership the Hall has been transformed into one of the regions premier wedding venues – and the work is continuing with the provision of a number of on-site guest rooms which are due for completion in early 2014. We already have several weddings booked at the Hall – and we can’t wait to be there photographing a wedding!
Jon Collier, the events manager, allowed us exclusive access to the Hall to take a few photos to show the magnificence of the building.

Saturday 25th May turned out to be one of those rare sunny days this spring – and this really helped to get some great wedding photos at our local Chillington Hall. As one of the venues recommended photographers our familiarity with the venue helped to make efficient use of the time – with minimal stress on Rachel and Sean. Many thanks to Andrea, Christine and Andrew at Chillington for making the day run so smoothly – and for the excellent food from Pam at Pear Tree Farm catering.
Our work on this wedding was capped by a few wonderful words from Ken – the father of the Bride:
“Hi Chris, I am Rachel’s Dad, Ken Byatt, and I want to say how much I appreciated the easy going professionalism that you displayed when working your magic! You have captured my daughter’s natural beauty (I am slightly biased) in lots of magnificent photographs. Thank you for adding so much to the SPECIAL day”
We love our jobs when we get this sort of feedback!! Thanks Ken!!
